Reform Africa

Shamim Naluyima is a change maker, entrepreneur, and an environmental activist from Uganda, where she is currently focused on addressing plastic waste. To help tackle this environmental problem, Shamim founded Reform Africa, which recycles plastic bags into durable, sustainable, waterproof, and eco-friendly products. With its Giving Joy grant, Reform Africa is working with schools in the Nakivale Refugee Camp to implement recycling programs and raise awareness of waste management. The organization also collaborated with youth to collect waste that was used to make 50 backpacks for refugee children.
