The Ugandan Centre for Women and Youth Empowerment (CEWAYE) used our Giving Joy grant to implement the "Fight Dementia" project, a groundbreaking initiative raising awareness about dementia in the Nakivale refugee settlement, Isingiro district, southwestern Uganda. This project fills a critical gap by focusing on one of the most vulnerable groups—elderly refugee women—and is the only dementia-focused initiative in Uganda for this population.
Fondation Luc Eucariste (FLE) and Coordination des Femme de Bainet (COFAB) is a grassroots organization that aims to strengthen education, agriculture and health services in Bainet, Haiti. They used the Giving Joy grant to purchase parts, employ labor, and repair the community mill that broke a couple of years ago, ensuring the renewed production of flour for the COFAB community.
