Passion Poultry

Evangelista Chekera, wanted to make a significant impact in the food industry. In 2016 she founded Passion Poultry which develops innovative poultry equipment in Zimbabwe like a mobile chicken slaughterhouse. The Giving Joy grant will fund one mobile slaughterhouse that will be donated by Passion Poultry to a women’s collaborative. The slaughterhouse processes 500 birds a day and can be leased out to other farmers as an additional revenue stream. Approximately 22 farmers will benefit from one unit on a monthly basis. The slaughter house will provide consistent and sustainable revenue to the women’s collaborative.
