Sokhiba Mukhitdinova

Sokhiba Mukhitdinova is a Principal at InsurTech NY, a leading venture capital firm, and an angel investor in the UK, with over 18 years of experience in banking and investment. Specializing in corporate finance and lending, she currently focuses on investing in impact-driven fintech startups. As a passionate advocate for female and underrepresented founders, Sokhiba works to address financial literacy gaps in emerging markets, particularly in Kazakhstan, where she is originally from. Drawing on her personal journey of becoming debt-free and achieving financial stability, Sokhiba has built a community of 95 women in Kazakhstan through a book club focused on personal and business finance.

With the support of our Giving Joy microgrant (donated by Megan Duty), Sokhiba is writing and publishing a practical personal finance handbook for women in Kazakhstan. The guide covers budgeting, building an emergency fund, eliminating high-interest debt, and growing income through investing — all tailored to the cultural and economic realities of emerging markets, where financial literacy resources are limited and many families struggle with unnecessary loans and debt. The handbook also includes a 90-day personal financial plan and real stories from women in Sokhiba's focus group who have repaid debt and taken control of their finances.

Written in Russian, the handbook will be delivered free of charge to 100 women, with an online version extending its reach across the Russian-speaking world. As of May 2026, Sokhiba is actively writing chapters and testing exercises with her 95-member focus group in Kazakhstan, with publication expected in July 2026.
