Sokhiba Mukhitdinova
Sokhiba Mukhitdinova is a Principal at InsurTech NY, a leading venture capital firm, and an angel investor in the UK, with over 14 years of experience in investment banking. Specializing in corporate finance and lending, she currently focuses on investing in impact-driven fintech startups. As a passionate advocate for female and underrepresented founders, Sokhiba works to address financial literacy gaps in emerging markets, particularly in Kazakhstan, where she is originally from. Drawing on her personal journey of becoming debt-free and achieving financial stability, Sokhiba has built a community of 100 women in Kazakhstan, all members of a book club focused on personal and business finance.
With the support of our Giving Joy microgrant (donated by Megan Duty), Sokhiba will publish 100 copies of her personal finance handbook, which covers essential topics like budgeting, saving for an emergency fund, managing loans and credit cards, and achieving long-term financial stability. Available in both hardcopy and online formats, the handbook will provide women with a roadmap to improve their financial literacy and, ultimately, their financial wellbeing.
This resource, written in Russian, will not only benefit the women in Sokhiba's book club but also women across the Russian-speaking world, where financial literacy is often limited, and many families live paycheck-to-paycheck. The handbook offers practical advice and exercises tailored to the unique challenges of emerging markets, providing valuable tools to manage finances and reduce financial anxiety. Sokhiba believes this project will empower women to take control of their financial futures, transforming their mindsets and improving their lives.
