Zaitoon Bahram - Clothing & Uniforms
Zaitoon Bahram is the founder and owner of Abra Afghan Ltd, a clothing company. Since 2015 her business has grown from small office in Kabul to several branches across Afghanistan. Products include women’s apparel, tailored suits and uniforms. In 2020 Zaitoon was contracted by the Afghan Ministry of Public Health to produce COVID-19 protective uniforms. Since the Taliban took over the government in 2021, Zaitoon lost all her government contracts and is struggling to recover. In 2022 she won the Bibi Khadiga award for Afghan women entrepreneurs. Giving Joy contributed to the award and Zaitoon will use the prize money to purchase high-tech sewing machines so she can employ women with tech backgrounds to increase production.
