Moms Go Digital in Nepal!

Join us this time as we explore the transformative impact of Safer-I’s Tech for Moms program. Safer-I Nepal is a feminist-led campaign dedicated to creating a safer, inclusive, and accessible digital space for everyone. One of Safer-I programs is Tech for Moms—a multi-day digital literacy workshop for adult women and mothers.

With the Giving Joy grant, they engaged 53 mothers in workshops on internet safety, password security, and using platforms like eSewa, Daraz, and Facebook. Additionally, the workshops empowered mothers by providing instruction on the practical use of everyday applications and teaching them how to effectively market and advertise their products online, while also emphasizing the importance of creating safe and secure digital environments.

"Witnessing the transformation of the participating moms was truly heartwarming," said Nirisha Manandhar, Founder and Campaign Lead of SAFER-I. “Sharing our seemingly basic knowledge, opened a whole new world for them. Seeing the spark of understanding and excitement as they learned new skills brought immense joy to our team.”

The initiative significantly boosted SAFER-I’s recognition, receiving requests to conduct similar workshops - highlighting the demand for these digital literacy programs. The grant also provided valuable insights, showing the importance of understanding its audience's needs through pre-event surveys. This will help SAFER-I make its future programs even more effective.
