Championing Justice for Women and Girls in South Africa

Zintle Khobeni, human rights activist from South Africa

Zintle Khobeni is a true force for justice. As a human rights activist, law student, and founder of The Great People of South Africa, Zintle is dedicated to advocating for women’s rights, gender justice, and the protection of marginalized communities.

Thanks to your generous support, Giving Joy awarded Zintle a grant to kickstart a trailblazing paralegal program. This initiative trains 20 young women in vital legal skills, empowering them to support survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) in their local communities.

Through intensive instruction in legal advocacy, trauma response, referral services, and court support, these women can now guide survivors through the legal system, ensuring they receive the justice and care they deserve.

The results have been nothing short of remarkable. These newly trained advocates have already assisted over 50 individuals—survivors, families, and community members—demonstrating the transformative power of knowledge and action.

But this is just the beginning. Zintle and her team are now working on follow-up mentorship sessions, a community referral network, and a GBV prevention event to expand their reach.

Donate today to help more fearless changemakers like Zintle empower others and create lasting impact.
